CMETB Youth Services administer funding to benefit local youth groups in Cavan and Monaghan

Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) Youth Services recently held a presentation night allocating funding of approx. €150,000 to support local youth groups across Cavan and Monaghan.

CMETB administers these funding schemes on behalf of the Minister Roderic O Gorman and the Department for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

At the event CMETB acknowledged and thanked the Minister’s department for their continued commitment and support to the Volunteer Youth Work Sector throughout the country. Along with the annual Local Youth Club Grant Scheme and the Youth Club Equipment Grant Scheme, this yeare CMETB welcomed the addition of the Integration Grant to Support Ukrainian (Migrant) Young People, aimed at supporting Ukrainian young people across the two counties.

These funding streams will support youth work activities for young people in Cavan and Monaghan and promote youth opportunity, engagement and inclusion at a local level. The allocation of these grants will provide vital support to the volunteer led youth groups in the Cavan and Monaghan region and will aid with the advancement and rollout of their local programme provision.

Councillor Colm Carthy, Chair of CMETB Youth Work Committee said:

“Tonight, is about you, your youth groups, your volunteer leaders, your voluntary participation, your young people! The work that you carry out week in week out in your local communities stands testament to the fine communities we have and by investing in our young people and their activities, we are investing in our county’s future communities”

The recipients of the 2023 Local Youth Club Grant Scheme represent a wide variety of focus areas and communities across Cavan and Monaghan. The full list of recipients can be found on cmetb.digigrow.ie/youth-services
